About Us

Winchester City Council, in partnership with Hampshire County Council, has been operating a Park & Ride system within Winchester City since 1994.

Winchester Park & Ride is the cheapest and greenest way to park in Winchester for all commuters, visitors & shoppers. Frequent and efficient with low floor easy access buses running every 10 minutes during peak times and every 15 minutes off peak.

Our aim is to encourage the use of large car park facilities on the outskirts of our city and use the dedicated bus service to travel into and out of the city centre, helping to keep our historic city centre a more pleasant environment, with less traffic and better air quality. It also saves you the hassle and expense of finding alternative parking facilities within the City Centre.

All buses serve all Park & Ride car parks, the railway station, hospital and Winchester City Centre.

From 19th April 2010, Park & Ride will be further improved with the opening of a 3rd site located to the south of the City near to Junction 11 of the M3, offering an additional 864 spaces!
